| Found only in the Cederberg
Mountains 250km north of Cape Town in South Africa, Rooibos tea
has become a tradition in South Africa for over 80 years and
worldwide since the early 1990's.
Travelling throughout the expanse
of the Western Cape in Southern Africa, one may not
suspect that this bright bush could be such a
versatile and remarkable herb - and such a great addition to any
private label herbal tea range.
For more than 300 years Rooibos
has been enjoyed as a beverage for its health benefits and
versatility, along with its refreshing flavour, pure aroma and
distinctive mahogany colour. Today, these same qualities are being
embraced by an ever-growing number of consumers and researchers all
over the world.
Tea drinkers worldwide are enjoying their favourite
Rooibos tea: natural, as a blended tea, cold ice-tea or with fruit
juices.
It was Russian immigrant, Benjamin Ginsberg, whose
family had been in the tea business for generations, who more than
a century ago first noticed the possibilities of Rooibos and started
selling it commercially.
